These terms are the agreement between you and Blue Jay Digital, LLC for your use of Money Buckets. By creating an account or using the app, you're agreeing to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Money Buckets is owned and operated by Blue Jay Digital, LLC, a Utah limited liability company. "We", "us" and "our" mean that company. "You" means the person holding the account. You can reach us at hello@bluejay.digital.
Money Buckets is a virtual ledger for teaching children about money. You record what a child has earned and what they've spent; the app splits it into give, save and spend buckets, tracks their savings goals, and gives you a place to run chores and family work sessions.
To be unambiguous about what that means:
Everything you enter — your kids' names, balances, transactions, wishes and chores — belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it and we don't use it to train anything, advertise to you, or build a profile.
We store and process it only to run the service for you. You can ask for a copy of it, or ask us to delete all of it, at any time. The Privacy Policy covers exactly what we hold, where it lives, and how to get it back or have it erased.
Please don't:
If you find a security problem, we would much rather you told us than exploited it. Email hello@bluejay.digital.
Money Buckets is early-stage software run by one person. We'll do our best to keep it up and working, but we don't promise any level of uptime, and we may add, change or remove features as the product develops. We may also need to take the service down for maintenance from time to time.
Money Buckets is meant to be the place your family's balances actually live, and we treat that record accordingly. But no software is perfect. We can't guarantee that data will never be lost, delayed or displayed incorrectly, and you shouldn't rely on it as your only record of anything that genuinely matters financially. Sections 9 and 10 set out what that means in legal terms.
Money Buckets has a free plan and two paid ones. Current prices are on the pricing page and are shown again before you pay.
You can switch from Pro to Free at any time from the Plan page in the app. The change takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for: you keep Pro until then and are not charged again. We don't refund or credit partial periods, except where the law requires it.
On Free, your first child stays fully active. Any other children are kept exactly as they were, including their balances and history, but are read-only until you upgrade again. Wish Farm and Power Hour pause the same way. Nothing is deleted because you changed plans.
Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card details on Stripe's checkout page, under Stripe's own terms; we never receive your card number. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will retry it for a short period; if it still can't be collected, the subscription ends and your account returns to Free.
If we change the price of Pro, we'll tell existing subscribers at least 30 days before the new price applies to their next renewal, so there's time to switch to Free first. Deleting your account ends any subscription; the unused part of the current period isn't refunded.
You can stop using Money Buckets whenever you like. To have your account and all of your data deleted, email hello@bluejay.digital and we'll take care of it as promptly as we reasonably can, normally within about 30 days.
We may suspend or close an account that's breaking these terms, being used to harm someone, or putting the service at risk. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you why and try to give you a chance to get your data first, though we may not be able to in every case.
If we ever shut the service down entirely, we'll aim to give account holders reasonable notice and an opportunity to retrieve their data beforehand.
Money Buckets is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every possible attack, or that any calculation, forecast or projection it shows you will turn out to be accurate. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranties to be excluded, in which case the exclusions above apply only as far as the law permits.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Blue Jay Digital, LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of — or inability to use — Money Buckets.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and both of us agree to that jurisdiction. If you're a consumer, this doesn't take away any rights you have under the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
We may update these terms as the product changes. If a change is material, we'll update the date at the top of this page before it takes effect, and will generally try to let account holders know by email or a notice in the app. Continuing to use Money Buckets after a change means you accept the new version; if you don't, you can close your account. It is worth checking this page from time to time.
